Aesthetics of film, aesthetics of art: the psychoanalysis of the critique of the beautiful and the grotesque

Objective: to enable a reflection on Hegel's aesthetic perception by associating cinema with aesthetics and psychoanalysis. Method: a comparative method between the aesthetic premises of Wim Wenders' film and Hegelian thought. The analysis draws on Jacques Aumont and other French theorists who offer a comprehensive overview of film theory and aesthetics through themes such as editing, cinema and narration, cinema and language, and the film as visual and sound representation. Results: the analytical process of the film resulted in the creation of a cinema website where this critique is explained in detail. Final considerations: the film is an excellent teaching tool for educators who wish to explore the universe of the moving image. When we watch a film, we perceive it as identical to ourselves, a thesis clearly established in the theory that any universal object is appreciated by particular minds.
